Stories are the best form of communication. The emotion and drive behind these stories are what makes them great. Rarely are they understood, and given their dues. I strive to learn the story behind each piece, and each person. Yes, it’s insanity perhaps that drives me to learn absolutely everything I can in this world, but it’s also that insanity that allows the words to flow, and ideas to form. I want my art to reflect the stories that I’ve been told, or the stories of my own life that I wish to share.

Personally, still life portraits are what I gravitate towards the most in 2D-media, due to the fact that there is so much to be said about them. Each one has their own unique qualities, and each one has a different meaning. In my own still life portraits, I wanted to capture an otherworldly or fantasy-like feel, especially in my scanography piece. Scanography and HDR photography are my favourite techniques for still life portraits, as scanography allows for quite a bit of manipulation within the piece, and HDR show the true range of whites and blacks that can’t always be captured with a single shot.

I intend to go on and major in filmmaking and creative writing. Since storytelling is the biggest part of myself and my art, I wanted to give myself more of a voice. I love the process of movie making, and Steven Spielberg is my biggest inspiration. He has created fantastical stories and immersive media, breaking the boundaries of film since the 80’s. I want my stories to be as good as his one day, if not better.
